NACA Membership
All across this country, municipal officials and the general public are grappling with the health and safety hazards of unwanted and uncontrolled animals. Thousands of community animal shelters are bulging with forgotten and abandoned dogs and cats, the disposable victims of a "throwaway" society. Rabies outbreaks, interrupted mail service, livestock and game losses--these are the results of animal control problems. Millions of loving pets must be destroyed each year because people neither want them nor love them enough to take proper care of them.
In the center of this major public problem is a team of local officials working diligently to prevent abuses, to enforce the laws, to prosecute violations, to legislate for more modern statutes and to solve the problem. The team is the men and women who belong to the National Animal Control Association (NACA).

NACA NEWS MAGAZINE
The "NACA News" is a bi-monthly magazine published by NACA. It contains articles addressing issues of interest to its members and others concerned with the ongoing Animal/Human relationship problem. Since product advertising is encouraged, the "NACA News" has become a resource of information for service and product reviews. The "NACA News" has a circulation of over 4,800 per issue, and is distributed in several foreign countries. As a member, you receive the greatest resource within our field!

NACA NETWORK
The NACA membership network is the most extensive in the animal control/care industry. Members have access to an e-mail help-list that reaches 1000's of animal control/care personnel who share information to advance the health, morale, welfare, training and knowledge of animal control/care personnel and associations.

The recipient of each of these awards receives a complimentary NACA Conference registration.
Outstanding State Association Award
The Association that wins this Award must be currently affiliated with NACA. The recipient of this Award will receive complimentary registration and $500 in sponsorship money for their next Conference.
Diane Lane Memorial Award
This award recognizes outstanding volunteer service.
As a NACA member, you are automatically eligible for any award that requires NACA membership.
VOTING PRIVLIDGES
Per the NACA bylaws:
Types of Voting Memberships:
Individual: Any person who shall adhere to purposes of the Corporation.
Agency: Any agency concerned with animals or people.
Association: Any state or regional association whose purposes coincide with purposes of the Corporation.
Individual, Agency and affiliated State Association members shall be entitled to one (1) vote per member.
TRAINING SCHOLARSHIPS
The Board of Directors of the National Animal Control Association (NACA) has established a scholarship fund in memory of the late NACA board member Joseph Maniaci.
The Joseph Maniaci Memorial Scholarship Fund
This was established as a tribute to Joe's commitment to professional training for animal control officers everywhere. The scholarship provides tuition for Level I and Level II of the NACA Training Academy. Each scholarship provides tuition ONLY and DOES NOT include transportation, lodging, meals or other expenses. One scholarship will be awarded for each Academy session. Applicants may submit only one application, per session. Only NACA members are eligible to apply. The scholarship is a $525 value!

AGENCY MEMBERSHIP
Become Involved! Encourage Professionalism In Animal Care And Control!!!
Your agency can do that by joining the one association whose entire thrust is in that direction. Your agency will receive five copies of each issue of the "NACA NEWS" via first class mail, and a handsome wall plaque identifying them as a member.
